Good luck avoiding snow! I travelled from Boston to Seattle around this time of year a few years ago and going over the Cascades in a snow storm is no fun in a tiny car...I would have had heart failure in a big ole truck.
Go to Colorodo!! Las Vegas. Cut over to Northern CA and then up to Portland.
