    the issue is with the cheap rate you are attempting to pay for 100% Pro equipment, to be very honest/blunt.

    yes, all LCDs will do this to some extent or another, but the very nice, handmade ones will not. CRTs will do it to after time, and sometimes in other places than just the edge. your t.v. at home (CRT) will also do this over time- it is called wear.

    now the issue w/ LCDs and this is the insane high rate they are mass produced when they are actually quite detailed to make. trickle down effect and capitalism and you got yersef a monitor that does this 'problem' on the top 10px of the unit. hate to say it, but LaCie also does not have nearly the quality control as some other makers.

    hate to say it, but i think you'd be pretty well off w/ LSD and yer LCD in pair...

    .... and just deal w/ it. :)
