I use Comcast Digital Voice and its been super sweet so far!
The modem they use comes with an 8 hour battery backup in case power goes out.
I did a lot of research on Vonage and was really nervous about going with them because for every good review there was a horrible review to go along with it. So I'm not sure about those guys.
The quality on Skype isn't good but it works well for international calls...mainly because its free.
