    I've been through some different kinds of imagery for the logo, but ended up with just a logotype because I want it to be more of a heading that is adaptable to multiple concepts - rather than just one.

    i think a logotype could work great for your company name, and i would agree sometimes the best approach for portfolios/ studio names.

    .. but abbreviated as "SOC" (?) it doesn't work for me.

    CIVILIZED is an attractive word, make use of the letterforms.
