If she is pressuring you, i wouldn't do it under the pressure. Get marreid when you are ready.
As for asking her father, it depends on the father. My wife's dad is mostly Syrian so yeah I asked him so I could stay alive... partly joking but culturally it needed. That was a standard back in the day but most of the time it doesn't happen.
