Any IT department that makes decisions based only on cost and not on what makes users more productive should be replaced.
PCs are cheaper up front (however, buying a whole new suite of software is plain stupid)
But in the end, your costs will skyrocket because of support issues.
The problem with IT people isn't just poor decision making but their utter refusal to actually learn anything beyond Windows and PCs.
A GOOD IT employee knows BOTH platforms backwards and forwards.
