take a screehshot of the print designers work on screen then use that for the graphics.
you are better using text in flash though surely? it might not look identically antialiased as the print stuff on screen but the file sizes will be a hoooor of a lot smaller.
tell the print designer to stick to print design!!!
i work for a company which is primarily a print design company then there is a small new media company within this company.
a lot of the projects i work on in the web section have had print stuff done too by the print section.
obviously the formats are NOT the same, so rather than taking designs "as is" from the print designers, i'll tweak the design so that it works best for the web. remember printed design and websites are a whole different user experience.
If a web designer has just taken a brochure, resized it and jpegged it up for the web thats not very impressive is it?
