Agreed on how moving they are. I've only seen one live performance, they played on the Carson Daley show a few weeks ago, played the first song off of (), I woke up on the couch just at the beginning, it was almost surreal.
I think all the time how, whenever I'm getting married someday, I want that song to play instead of that traditional wedding march song.
See, Sigur Ros do right what too many others do wrong. They find that vibe of sound and capitalize on that alone, when a song is in the right moment it seems to go on forever. How many songs do you hear that sound great, they're emotive, and then there's some change in them that you realize doesn't fit at all? That's what I'm talking about.
Too many people sort of say that "the album ( ) and they're whole act is contrived and such" because he's singing in a made up language, there are no song titles, etc. I think the way the album is open to interpretation is pretty amazing. There are sounds in that album that fit so perfectly, just captivating.
I hate that I missed seeing them
