It's profound that a top Hollywood director made a film about small town Ohio. It's profound that instead of casting Jennifer Aniston and Heath Ledger he used locals. It's profound that he was able to coax believable performances from these people, especially from the woman who played Martha. It's profound that he did all this for the love of film. It's profound that he raised a middle finger at Hollywood and said, "watch what I can do. " It's a profound film.
