  Hmmm.... the D50 is a very good camera, perfect for someone sitting on the proverbial fence, trying to decide whether a point-and-click camera will suffice or whether they would be better off with more control...

  But, if you have any experience with SLR cameras & have confidence in your abilities then I think the D70 would offer that bit more control & you may find slightly better results...

  It's all down to how much you're going to use it & how much you want to spend...
