sorry about your heart ailment ponyboy. That is tough, what if you were to sick to work though? Should you be thrown out on the street because you are physically unable to earn a living?

I'm pissed that I'm screwed by my insurance company... i'm pissed that I can't just walk into a hospital and get treatment... i'm pissed that I don't have enough money - that if I get too sick... i can't work and I'm stuck...
... see... I HATE THIS SHIT AS MUCH AS YOU...
... but seriously - I can't EXPECT that I'm just going to be taken care of either... but I also CAN'T EXPECT that my fellow human beings would just toss me on my ass.
... I KNOW it's our humane duty to take care of each other... I live by that standard - I do whatever I can to help, duder...
... except when it's demanded of me.
I'm guess I'm arguing the left's demanding style of 'taking care of each other'.
Republicans/conservatives are GOOD WITH MONEY... can you pleeeeeease agree w/that? :)
I'm not against helping... I'm against a hand-out. I can honestly say I have watched SO MANY 'poor' people fuck around with the system to stay on it and ride it.
I worked neck-deep in corpo america. One of the companies I worked for had 5500 employees just on our campus. The HR people for that company go through hell dealing w/their 'lower paid' employees as those employees opt to 'try' and stay at a pay-grade that WILL ALLOW THEM to stay on welfare... or get their WICA discount or get other discounts for whatever...
... they jockey their shitty little desk job and bitch and moan all fucking day that 'the man' makes more than they do... that it's not fair etc. Then they'll see a 'big boss' walking through the department and plenty of folks hop on the 'bashing bandwagon' because he's the bigwig making all the money observing his pee-ons...
... WHEN IN FACT... That boss sat in one of those chairs doing that pee-ons work for 3 years him or herself... but took advantage of the situation - learned the ropes - stuck with it... and MOVED ON...
unlike the 'standard' employee who opted to bitch and moan... when they're perfectly capable of GETTING OFF THEIR ASSES and hitting up the net for some classes... or going to nightschool etc... there are endless education funds out there... ESPECIALLY for minorities - I recall THREE 'minority' student I went to college with who were on scholarships that ONLY their minority could get...
... and NONE of them graduated w/much to show for themselves and are all still complaining how hard it is to be them.
My point? it's been my experience that PEOPLE NEED HELP... but MOST OF THE TIME... they should be watched like a fucking hawk so they don't take advantage of it.
Welfare and Gov. Aid etc ARE NOT RIGHTS... but are necessary and... dare I say - LOVING humane provisions?
Be intellectually honest w/me dobs... would you agree that the whiners and complainers in YOUR life... could definetly HELP themselves?... and I'm not talking about those who require legit help (the handicapped, the elderly etc)...
... and for those who need the help... they can be 'taught' to better themselves in that process of getting help... which is why I love the idea of 'welfare for work' type of programs.. because our education DOES suck in this country... but so does the attention span of the students in the classrooms because they take what they have AND WHERE THEY ARE for granted...
Get people off their asses and teach them to take care of themselves. I mean - you wipe your childs ass up to a certain point until it's time for the damn kid to learn to sit on the pot...
