    ah... plate movement.

well i like the subtle brown lines as i feel it repesents the fragility of the eartch. it could be said that while the thin lines represent the fragility the thicker outline represents the actual enormity of the land, 'the big', 'the earth' etc.

the curved lines, to me say that its a nice, slow, almost comforting process - which it probably isnt. is it not high pressure, jarred, violent, crushing movement?

maybe the shape of the line could reflect this better?

i understand that you have abstracted the concept totally but what about the possibility of the poster reflecting earthly colours? wholesome green and blues? in syaing that, i like the brownline as i feel it represents earthy soil.

im not really a huge fan of the yellow and maybe you could experiment with different type faces?

hope that is of some help.
