    Thanks guys. I was hoping someone could pinpoint it by the description of the sound. 100% say its the harddrive so far. Thanks thats a big help. I thought maybe it was the processor or fan.

    If its the old one it has the system folder and all my apps etc on it. If so is it as easy as backing it up, getting a new hd and just putting it all on the new one?

    I guess I should change it before it totally goes out.
