I don't mind if it's a cd presentation of some sort but the more I surf around, the less tolerant I've become of sites launching in pop windows in general.
I don't mind if I know it's an image that's going to pop up to show a bigger version but I've not seen a site, flash or otherwise that's actually needed to open in a pop window.
As for giving users a choice, bollocks. Don't use them, you don't need to.
