    I don't think its a huge deal. I also don't think that it will make a lick of difference in the diversity at a particular company. I do think that it creates more work for everyone on both sides just so that some white rich politicians and CEOs can feel better about themselves at the end of the day.

    I've been on the inside of the hiring process and we had over 500 applicants in 3 days. 99% of them had HORRIBLE resumes and cover letters. They were horrible based more on the content and lack of detail/attention paid to them then how the bad or good the layout was.

    This new law just means that you're gonna have to pay more attention to your resume.

    Also, it really only does apply to federal jobs and private/public companies that employ 50 or more people. Most design studios and even most agencies don't break over the 50 person line. I don't think this affects us designers that much. Then again, I do work in a corporate setting right now at one of the largest companies in the world.
