if you do it the way that you are suggesting, jaz and work under the table, you can get deported. i've been deported before and it's not nice. it can fuck up the rest of your life. in the us the penalty that goes with deportation is that you are illegal even to enter the us for ten years and, in certain cases, jail time. for some people that is an unacceptable risk.
