I don't believe that's true.
How does the Harry Beck's underground map do that. It simply aids people to navigate the tube with greater ease – solving a problem.

mmm. that map is part of the service offered that people buy into. I wouldn't pay to use the tube if i had no way of figuring out which way i wanted to go.
not that i'm agreeing with what any of you fruits are saying.
