I agree. Two different cars.
Would you say the VW Touareg and the Porche Cayanne are the same car? They share the same undercarraige too, but perform and feel different.
I love my 06 Jetta, but if I didn't need VW to get me out of my 15 month left 03 Passat, I probably would've gone straight for the A3. But that said, the Jetta is great for it's value. It's a little slower than my Passat Turbo was, but it moves great and being that it's smaller it's pretty quick. It's got everything I could want besides a larger engine...moonroof, tiptronic and sport mode, leather, xenon lights, 6 cd in dash, Sirius radio, alloys, the works. I'm guessing with the A3, all that would probably get ya close to 26K and I'm leasing but my car is worth about 23K.
Not a bad deal. I can't really complain. They took me out of my lease with 15 months left, only put down a bit o cash and payments are up just slightly. I did good.
