please post some exmaples of how they are the same... just because VW owns Audi doesn't mean they are the same car.

(Jan 18 06, 06:38)Well, in a way it does. VAG (VW) is probably the car manufacturer with the most variations on the same platform. The new Golf shares platform with the Passat, the Jetta, the A3, european models like Seat Altea, Toledo and Leon as well as Skoda Octavia.
They've got the same chassie, same suspension, electronics, steering, safety and features in general. Most of the engines are avaliable in all vehicles.
The biggest difference is in how the brand is marketed, and of course in exterior and inteior design and materials. There are also slight differences in how the engine and steering software.
The Jetta and A3 is not the same product, and they have different target groups but it's still more or less the same mechanics and therefor a very similar riding experience.
