    There is no reason anyone who worked on the design would have to be 'pissed off' about it. You can change the code and make the rollovers look exactly the same an probably even be more responsive.

    Alot of HTML/JavaScript code generated by programs like Fireworks etc are a mess anyway.

    The html would only display simple semantic markup for the spider to read through with all the style residing on the CSS file.
