Not sure about you yanks but I have subscibed to Gutar Techiniques for a few years. It's awesome. It comes with a cd every month with some great lessons and backing tracks. All for £5. The writers are the best in the UK. There is no gear articles just purely how to play better in every style. There is always (ie every issue) lessons on: Rock, acoustic, blues, jazz, fingerstly, country, funk, techniques (eg picking) and theory. It's helped me to become a well rounded player.

Last month's issue had a dvd instead of a cd with interviews and lessons from people like Paul Gilbert and Mike Stern.

There are always guys from the US writing in to say how much better it is than the US magazine (which I have sometimes bought here and generally suck). You can get GT in Borders and Barnes & Noble.

But the main reason to buy it is because you get to be taught by the legend that is Guthrie:

He's taught me in person and he's the best teacher I've ever had.

Check out some more of him on google. His solo album comes out soon!
