4-wheeling outside Breck with my gf in high school. My dad let me borrow his brand new Ford Explorer for the weekend (96 miles on it when I left). I was going up a steep, icy hill with a bit of momentum. I was about 5 feet from the top when the wheels lost traction. We proceed to slide backward for about 100 feet with trees only feet away on either side. (No anti-lock brakes don't work when going backward). Passenger side rear wheel goes over the side right as we stop at a relatively flat spot. The whole time we're sliding I'm tell the gf "It's okay. It's okay." Sure enough, it was okay. Friends say she was really pissed at me for it but never really said a word. My dad would have murdered me. Got away lucky that time.
Great stories y'all. Good thread.
