What a friggin weasel. That takes some nerve. He could be fired for that I'm sure you know.
It is your job to explain to him or his bosses why it is not a good idea design, time, IA, usability wise whatever. If thet wos't listen after that find a new job. You shouldn't even have to deal with that guy.
