    CMYK it doesn't really matter because the prepress will convert any spots in the doc to CMYK..

    but if you want to build your files correct, the CMYK version should blend from a CMYK value to a CMYK.. or edit your spot swatch to global process.

    but i should probably add.. if you are sending the job to press, don't count on your prepress guys to catch the spots. they could be pricks and output to plates just to teach you a lesson. it happens.
