just having a good understanding of Audio and realizing that audio and video act much like each other you could use a bunch of different things. OK maybe something like this. Record with a nice DV (Digital Video) Recorder that's either lined into your machine as you are filming or independently filming. You could edit that video with many different applications such as Adobe Premiere, however, to be honest programs such as Vegas Video from Sonic Foundry do the job just as well for 90% of projects. I think even Acid Music Pro can import and sequence audio to video etc. This is my guestamation. :)
