Create a A-L and a M-Z folder on your desktop.
Then say your client is joeschmoe, then create a joeschmoe folder and put it in the A-L folder.
Then create another folder and give it a job number like JS001, and place that within the joeschmoe folder.
I found this to be the most efficient way.For archiving, burn dvds per client. Like joeschoe dvd one would be called js_01_2005. The next dvd would be called js_02_2005
This way, you can retrieve your files per client and date. Also print your disc log, and organize them in a 3 ring binder. There's no f*cken better way man.
Also, if you want to organize your client art files, create a Art(A-L) and a Art(M-Z) folder on your desktop. Within these folder, create a subfolder per clients name. Then create 2 sets of folder within for raster images and logos eps art.
