I used to hate on dreamweaver too but once I started exploring what it can do I never looked back. Drag and drop objects, fully customizable menus, copy and paste complex data tables from word or excel right into the page. Plus if you don't like some of the code it writes, it has the option of going in and customizing it to whatever you want it to be.
Also, the site check-in, check-out is great for multi-developer environments as well as being able to export all your sites ftp info to tiny files you can carry around on a usb stick.
I'd recommend giving it a shot in coder view since that'll be the most like what you're used to with BBEdit.
