first off, what kind of audio production are you planning on doing on your machine? and what version of windows are you running?
if you're planning on doing anything serious... any program windows comes with isnt goign to cut it. if you wanna go barebones get yourself an SM-58 on ebay and soundforge... if you're looking for anything more exhaustive let me know and ill help you pick something out.
that being said being said, im sitting in the digital editing room at the radio station i work at right now... and im drooling, the microphone in front of my face cost $5000 and dont get me started on the dual cinema displays on this mac ;)
