You could just use older software, do you really need the newest version?
Fuck we still had Photoshop 5, and illustrator 8 rocking on the computers at my last job. Still gets the job done.
You can get Illustrator 8 on ebay for like $50. Photoshop 5 is like $25. It's kind of ghetto, but if you had some moral ethical thing stopping you from ripping software, you could still design.
