Hey gpop,
I feel your pain. I actually do alot of seo and it is probably more painful working with stupid clients. For clients on a small budget set them with adwords and do some keyword analysis to show them that the terms they blurt out of there face no one searches for , if thats the case. Adwords will give the quickest results so that you can guage if organic optimization will actually benifit there company.

4. Organic search optimization
5. Achor text in incoming links
6. Theming
7. other boring stuffq. Why doesn't by web page show up for hairy widget balls 1st place on google.
