I assume you are working in Adobe 1998? but I guess it doesn't matter.
To avoid this.... try converting to SRGB.
Image>Mode>Convert to Profile>SRGBI set it up as an action in my web actions folder so I can batch large amounts of images to upload to the web.
Then save for web... it should still look like you want it to.
