The media was entirely different during vietnam. We saw soldiers coming home in body bags, actual war footage, and protests.
today we get a sterile view of warfare which doesn't invoke the same emotions as in the sixties. protest are watered down(IE. showing splinter groups vandelizing starbucks) which polarizes the nation. You have the largest corporations like GE owning defense contractors and media companies. The spin is scientific in its ability to sway public opinion. Even when public opinion is against the war mongers there still very little we can do as regular citizens to change the course.
