I just moved from Denver/Boulder after living there on and off for better than 10 years. I moved to L.A.
I much prefer a large, late-night, diverse, happening city. I really enjoyed living in Seattle for the same reasons.
Denver most definately is not that- it has it's own charm. You have to decide which you prefer. Coming from Atlanta, I'd think Denver would seem small to you.
As far as the work scene for interactive/web- I'm not sure. I know it's way huger here in L.A. A plethora of work in the creative field.
