i'm with mitee..
haven't used a mouse for design work in over 7 years...i've got the new wacom, and its fantastic...i do a fair bit of illustrator work as well, and its perfect for that app, matter of fact, can't think of any design app it isn't perfect for...
its worth every penny..
besides, consider it an investment in your health..
i've seen more than my fair share of designers with carpal tunnel on their wrists (because of using a mouse + bad posture..
but i've never seen anyone have a problem from using a wacom tablet...
atleast i've never had a problem ..
