My initial crit is that Var. 1 & 2 just don't convey any energy or level of emotion.
The flask idea is a start but I think Var 3 is trying to hard to make the "R" out of the flask shape. Focus more on the concept and less on trying to get tricky with letter shapes.
Var 4 is the strongest. The type face is unique and has stronger lines than the Var 3. Again, the "R" might be a bit hard to read.
And if you are going to show the flask, maybe give is some life. To show the enery of a reaction.
