MrDinky, "Hand in hand" I am sure we agree. However, following your logic...
Do you suppose that Phillies Cigars back in the 90's knew even where to begin to look at the cause of their increasing sales? Do you think they knew that their sudden increase was due to Cypress Hill & House of Pain? The market picks up on a product fast and in waves.
I am in no way implying that a strong solid fresh campaign doesn't boost those sales, but I think that if VW had flown a campaign as strong as Mini during it's new Jetta launch their trust factor would have been shot if that hype did not meet the products design expectations.
Follow? We're kind of saying the same thing except I am wanting to pass a bit more of that weight blame onto the product. I do think Mini would have still been successful only since its being the smallest car on the market it was bound to find its niche.
