my policy is that if the client stands to make money from my work, then i need to get paid. simple as that.
and i dont do shit on spec, "well if this project gets picked up we could all make a lot of money, but we cant pay you right now." Shit, if I want to take risks with my time and effort, I have plenty of my own inhouse projects.
