doing pro bono work for friends doesn't hurt our industry. But taking pro bono jobs from Multi-national corporations will!

When I first started to do freelance work, I contacted my ex colleagues that work at Publicis (huge advertising agency) for possible freelance work. Well, a month ago they contacted me to work on an ad campaign, but said that since it was my first job with them, they wanted me to do the job for free, to test our relationship.

I told them No way. My time ain't free, especially when they make multi million dollar deals on a daily basis.

Botttom line is business guys only worry about the size of there fat wallets, and they don't care if they shaft and short change you. So don't sell yourself short and charge them through the roof.
