You don´t think your friend can make up his mind on his own? Or maybe you´re the appointed carer - and clean up after him?
Let him live his life the way he chooses to. If there are lessons he needs to learn, let him learn them and give him a chance to experience life as it is.
Maybe they´re happy together. Shouldn´t that be a reason enough?
