I think you should be a real friend and accept the choice your friend has made.
I've been in a relationship for 11 years and there have occasionally been friends who tried to stand in my way (and most all wanted to sleep with me too! - well?!) and here I am, still very happy. Maybe you don't know everything there is to know. Either way, you're setting the stage to lose a friend.
