the quotes seem a bit strange. like they belong to some mutual fund company or something... given that this is a personal site, i think they feel a bit pompous. humourous quotes might work better... or no quotes at all, how about describing the sections with that text?
your transition seem a bit slow... you can't nav thru the site very quickly, and I hate when i have to wait to see what my choices are (for nav)
