"HARDEST JOB
Journalist, Algeria
?Arrange armed protection? is the advice Algeria?s foreign office gives reporters intending to venture outside the capital city, Algiers. The Armed Islamic Group don?t like Westerners but particularly hate journalists and have killed nearly 100 of them since 1992. The International Press Bureau has estimated that a reporter working without an armed escort is likely to survive six and a half minutes.
"i can verify that.
As i know a businessman here who does a lot of trade over there, and he owns a villa/office over there, which is guarded by at least 4 private soldiers (24/7/365) at a rate of 10$ per day per man. He has two heavily armed guards with him just for visiting clients..
how sick and dangerous can a place be?
