I took a board to the grill my 1st day out too. My teeth almost cut all the way through my lip.
Soler: if you're in LA area, you should go down to San Onofre, Old Mans Beach and try a longboard. Its a good spot and you can drink beers there. Which pretty much makes any sport better.
