    I'd just be a man and give him a ring, state your position your terms and return the bike thereby removing it from the equation. Hold your ground with the pricing if that was what was agreed, do not allow him to stress you into taking less. None of this email/MSN dithering about it just gets childish after a while.

    Don't even mention the forum sounds like he's winding you up and of course other designers would say that he spent too much. That's a moot point considering that you've already agreed the price, you did the work, etc.

    Always get a down payment up front, for any client, even friends. Money talks and bullshit walks. I had a client that wasn't playing ball recently and was glad that I got my 40% up front. They fired me 3 months ago stating that they were going to get the project done for free. I said, go ahead, you get what you pay for and their 'free' website still hasn't materialised.
