I got an old Powerbook which I bought back in like '99. It's hard to believe it's already been 4 years, 'cause I still use it and it's still ok for the stuff I do. I don't run OSX, but I run all the latest versions of flash, photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver, etc. It could definetely be faster, but c'mon, it's really old. It's only 333mhz, with 500 ram but it still chugs along.
I was considering buying one of the new 12 inch powerbooks and a separate desktop flatpanel display for home use. Those are great little machines. But I realized I don't quite need it yet. I think I'm going to wait for that coming shift of chips from Motorola to Intel. That should be interesting and from what I understand, should get rid of the problem with the slow Flash player.
I don't recommend an ibook since they still use the G3 chip, and that's on its way out. Not even the imacs use them anymore.Among PC users, Dell seems to be favored along with Vaios.
