lol, that's the first time anyone has ever compared me to Bruce Willis. I gotta say, I kinda like it.
But, seriously. I know exactly where you're coming from. When I first started I was the same way (snuggles knows this well) and I'm pretty confident that over the years I've learned more about what it is to work for (a.k.a. "serve") my clients properly than fufill my own creative needs.
I'd love nothing more than to do whatever the fuck I want whenever the fuck I want but no one will pay me to do that.
So, until I figure out how to accomplish that I work at my job and I'm thankful that I don't work at Sears anymore.
With that said, you should always stand up for what you BELIEVE in. But make damn well sure you can back it up otherwise you'll make more trouble for yourself. Sometimes even if you BELIVE you're absolutely right.
I'm not sure where I once read/heard this but "professional design is 95% shit work and 5% work that isn't so terrible, the other 0% is work that you absolutely love doing."
