And she 'taught' me how to dress proper too, picked out clothes, told me what haircut to get, what cologne to spray on.... but I don't see him getting any treatment!!

quite seriously, you are better off without her... most likely you complied with her "teaching" too much and were no longer "rough enough"..
I learnt that one the hard way recently too. In future any attempt to change things like my haircut or my clothes will be met with the sound of the door slamming shut behind me as I leave.
Don't know if you know it, but there is a fantastic song by Ani Di Franco called "as is" - about taking people as you find them...I'll send you it if you like, sounds like it could cheer you up my friend.
