Thats utter shite, Multiple pages are possible on ill..but as someone pointed out its better to use an app other than illustrator for multipage layouts.
So..go to Document setup. Set your set up to the printer you are printing to. Then change the artboard size..something huge for alot of pages. Then hit the checkbox "tile full pages"
job done.
