I could say it's all about being true to the punk spirit or about plagarism or intellectual property, but this is what bugs me about it...
One call. That's all it would have taken. It's something us big boys call "prior permission". If Dischord/Minor Threat had been cool with ith usage, I would have been cool with it.
Maybe I'm just sensitive because I've been ripped off a few times. Went to court three times over it and I'm up 2-1 (one of them was a $75k settlement out of court, most of it going to the lawyers).
I'm also part of the copy/paste generation. BUT: If I use something that's not public domain, I get permission from the originator.
