"All the stars who showed up were really good about lingering and talking to fans. There was some tension — well, I tried to create some tension — when Val Kilmer showed up. I got a chance to talk to Christian Bale up on the cocktail balcony, and I told him Val was still working the carpet downstairs, and that he should go and lay some bat-pummeling on the dude. Christian laughed. I laughed. Then Chris O'Donnell took our drink orders."
